چکیده
The following manuscript presents the first attempt to fabricate and characterise electrospun polycaprolactone/poly(succinimide) composite meshes. While each material has its own advantages, a mesh could provide further options in wide diverse application spectrum of fibrous membranes. Polycaprolactone is well-known polymer with excellent mechanical properties resistance against most chemicals. On other hand, poly(succinimide) an easily modifiable that functionalisation system, giving rise new perhaps better alternative solutions, for example sensors field. Additionally, as both polymers are biocompatible biodegradable system be especially advantageous option environmental biomedical fields well. Three different meshes were produced by utilizing three electrospinning configurations: a. Electrospun layered meshes, b. Co-electrospun c. Blend Physical-chemical (Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Spectrometry, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fluorescence Water Contact Angle), well characterisation, performed validating proof concept Furthermore, PCL/PSI proved mechanically stronger they exhibited almost double loading capacities when compared PSI only Wettability studies on hand addition component will decrease water contact angle therefore make wettability nature more favourable applications.

Fabrication and characterisation of a calcium phosphate/zirconia composite
The aim of this study is to fabricate high strength calcium phosphate/ yttrium artially stabilised zirconia (Y-PSZ) composites using a simple powder pressing technique. Various compositions of hydroxyapatite and zirconia powder, ranging from 10 to 90 wt% Y-PSZ, were prepared using a wet mixing process. Ten compacts (13.5mm×3mm) were made for each composition, pressed and fired in air at sinte...
متن کاملElectrospun Nitrocellulose and Composite Nanofibers
Electrospinning was applied to nitrocellulose (NC) solutions in DMF, DMSO and Ethyl methyl keton to obtain NC nanofibers. Electrospraying process was observed when DMF was used as solvent. In comparison to NC/DMF, NC/DMSO solution resulted in the formation of a coating film as indicate by SEM. Two different electrospun nanofibers, smooth nanofibers wit...

Schwartz. In 2007, I came to Dr. Haifeng Chen's lab and started my journey of biomedical engineering. In my first four years of PhD study, Dr. Chen has exposed me to many different perspectives of being a good researcher, like how to think and work independently, and be creative. When the GaTech/PKU/Emory joint program first started, Dr. Chen was so supportive. Thanks to his support and referen...
متن کاملFabrication, characterization, and microscopic imaging of Fe2O3-modified electrospun nanofibers
This study explored the fabrication, characterization, and microscopic imaging of highly porous electrospun nanofibers based on pure and Fe2O3 nanoparticle modified polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers. The desired electrospinning mixture comprising polymer and nanoparticles in dimethyleformamide, was prepared. During electrospinning, the precursor solution was injected using a ...
متن کاملFabrication and characterization of electrospun feather keratin/poly(vinyl alcohol) composite nanofibers
Feathers, which contain more than 90% of keratin, are valuable natural protein resources. Moreover, recycling waste feathers to develop biomaterials contributes to environmental protection. The aim of this study was to fabricate and characterize both random and aligned feather keratin (FK)/PVA composite nanofibers through an electrospinning process. The morphology, molecular interaction, crysta...
